Does anyone recognise this dog?

image
This friendly little dog seems to love coming to school!! He has been found in the school on a few occasions. This morning he made it onto the corridors!! He was also in the back yard of the school last week (no children were playing at the time). As you all know there is a policy of no dogs in the school or school grounds for the obvious reasons! There are some children in the school terrified of dogs and as we all know even the friendliest dog can nip if they feel threatened. Can the person who owns this dog please ensure he’s on a lead, or if any of you know the person who owns the dog can you make them aware of the situation. Please inform a member of staff if you see the dog gaining access to the school in the mornings through the side gate. Many thanks for your co-operation on this.

Reminders:

Reminder “Nut Allergy”:
Please make sure that no food items contain nuts in any form in your child’s lunch as we have several children in the school with severe allergies to them.
Arts & Crafts:
If you have already sent this in we thank you.  We are asking any parents who haven’t sent in the classroom money to do so a.s.a.p., as we need to order resources next week.
Insurance “Pupil Cover”:
Each child will receive an Insurance Form and these forms and monies must be returned to the school by Friday, 26th September in an envelope (Junior Infants have paid this already in their Art & Craft money €9, but must fill in and return the form).  This is not compulsory but we highly recommend it to pupils as parents in the past have found it to be invaluable.  There is the option for 24 hour cover (€9) which covers your child/children for the full school year.  The company will not accept any late entries after this date.

Junior Infant Canal Picnic

On Monday Junior Infants went on a canal walk and picnic. As you can see the weather was amazing. We were fortunate to meet with Peter Pilkington who brought the children into the old schoolhouse by the banks of the canal. This was a schoolhouse from about 1840 to the early 1900s. Big thanks to Ben Watson, Lauren O’Toole, Eoghan Keatley and Shauna Casey from 5th class who accompanied us, they were a great help.
