Congratulations to second class on making their Fist Holy Communion in Allen Church yesterday. Thank you to the parents and Ms. Parle and Ms. Ennis, and to the children themselves for making the ceremony so special. The choir backed by Mr Flanagan, Ms. O Sullivan, Ms.O Grady, Ms. Ennis, with Glenda McCormack directed by Ms Parle made sure it was a day to be remembered!
Take a look at our lovely new sofa which was sponsored by “Playball” We can use this to chill out and read next to our new library. Parents can come in and help us to read and we will let them sit on our sofa!
The Easter bunny was full of surprises this year. During Easter assembly he hopped around all the classrooms and left chocolate bunnies for every single child! You can imagine the excitement as one junior infant most definitely saw the Easter bunny hop over the fence on his way home ! A big thank you to the Parents Association for making it possible. This excitement was followed by classes participating in an Egg hunts all around the school! No stone was left unturned in the quest to find as much Easter goodies as possible!
The boys basketball team came second in their blitz last Wednesday. We are all so proud of their achievement! We wish the girls all the best next week.
Thank you to Louise for all the hard work she has done with both teams!
Our new Eco garden is coming along nicely! The children with the help of Sheila and Mr. Donovan have been busy planting daffodils today.
A big thank you to parents Gerry Gleeson , Valerie and Bernard Renihan for all their hard work. We are all looking forward to the new scarecrows!
We are looking at the Three Billy Goat’s Gruff in drama this month and have learnt a poem called ‘Allosaurus’. We decided to design and make our own trolls / dinosaurs using clay. First, we made a plan of what we would like our creature to looks like, as well as what we would need in order to make them. We then wrote a set of instructions to help us.
Then, we used our sheet to help us make our trolls.
It was very messy but it was great fun! Thank you to Bethan Graham who helped us with making our creatures. Here are some pictures of us at work!
