Halloween Walk

Following on from last years successful walk on Wednesday for Halloween we have decided to do it again this year! We encourage you to walk, park and stride or cycle (if your outfit allows it!) next Wednesday the 24th of October. We would like to see as many of the children, parents and maybe even some teachers dressed up for Halloween. The walk will begin in the village at 8.35. Take a look at last years pictures for some inspiration!

Walk on Wednesday

Walk on Wednesday was a super success last year. Just look at the photos below of one of our special” Walk on Wednesday!” This year we encourage you to try and walk with your child to school on a Wednesday. It is all about getting active and outdoors so if walking isn’t your thing we encourage you to cycle and take advantage of our new bicycle shed! If you live too far away to walk to school you can also do the ‘park and stride’. Just park your car in the village and walk with your child to school. It is a great way of making new friends and keeping fit!
I would like to remind children to dismount their bike at the gate and walk up the pathway to the bike shed. Please don’t use the staff car park to cycle into the school. Looking forward to seeing some new faces walking  and cycling to school on Wednesday!

Welcome junior infants

Well done to all junior infants on having a great first day in school. We managed to pack a lot into our first day, playing with toys, learning new rules, meeting our new friend betty bear and going outside to play where the big boys and girls go. Tomorrow will be even better and we’re looking forward to the year ahead!

Update

Please note school will reopen on Thursday 30th August.
We hope you had a relaxing holiday and look forward to a happy and safe year, which is full of new learning experiences for us all!
In order to improve security in the school we have installed a keypad to the front door of the school. This will mean that nobody can enter the school without permission.
We are asking parents to make sure their children have everything they need for the school day each morning, as this will help to reduce the many disruptions we experienced last year due to parents seeking entry to deliver lunches etc. This will now not be possible except in exceptional circumstances. If you need to talk to a teacher or the principal please make an appointment.
We would be very grateful for your cooperation in this matter, as this will help towards the smooth running of the school, with less disruptions, and therefore more learning time for your child.
