Junior Infants loved dressing up as their favourite book characters today! They also brought in their favourite books to show each other, which ranged from princess books and fairy tales to dinosaur fact books and DIY crafts!
Girls football training after school today is CANCELLED due to weather and pitch
Congratulations to Benjamin Watson, Jessy Lyons, Ruairí Hanlon and Thom Graham who were chosen to represent the school in this year’s quiz. The boys performed very well scoring a total of 84 out of 100. The boys finished 7th out of 29 teams, the eventual winners were Two Mile House who finished with a very impressive total of 95.

The children in 3rd class had great fun making two class wormeries. We collected lots of worms and made a lovely comfortable home for them by using layers of soil, sand, compost and leaves. We will observe these over the next week or so to look at changes to the soil and the activity within the wormery.
Children are now starting to prepare for their First Confession and First Holy Communion!! The children are very excited and interested in learning about God and his world.
We have been looking at Cloud Cover and using our Cloud Wheel we are now able to determine what cloud is in the sky and what weather we are likely to have!! We then made a Cloud Cover display showing the different clouds we learned about.

Daragh Byrne-Doyle is now officially a published poet! We would like to say a huge congratulations to Daragh for winning the Christmas Poetry Competition in The Allen Eye. His poem entitled ‘Christmas, My Favourite Day’ is on page 22 of this months issue.
